Snarky Entertainment (or Snarky for short) is a small production group located in Vacaville, CA. The channel specializes in the production of short videos that are usually video game related, but are also non-video game related.
Early History
Initially, Snarky was run by Martin and Brennon. The plan was to make funny videos that would entertain them, but also possibly be seen by other people as well. About 4 months into Snarky's lifespan, Joe joined the group and started helping produce videos and, after a while, started writing scripts. One of the groups earliest videos was "The Randolph McGraw Show", which starred Brennon as Randolph McGraw, a failed actor trying to live life as a normal person. Accompanied by his cameraman Steven (played by Martin), Randolph got into several ridiculous predicaments, including purchasing a baby, getting drunk for the first time, auditioning for new, hit movies, and getting a visit from his brother, Charlie (played by Joe). The show was cancelled after about 8 videos for not attracting a good enough amount of views to the channel.
Soon after that, the group began a new series, Addicted to Call of Duty, which began with Modern Warfare 2. The series was a huge success, and got Snarky a huge amount of suscribers and views in a very small amount of time. The series stars Martin, who is deathly addicted to the latest Call of Duty game. The plot of the videos sometimes involve his friends trying to break him of his addiction, going as far as to hold an intervention. Later videos in the series, centered around Call of Duty: Black Ops, saw Martin suffer stockholm syndrome, which is a term to describe hostages expressing empathy for their captors. To date, the group is currently in its second "season" of Addicted to Call of Duty, with an expected third season once Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 releases.
Soon after that, the group started producing Action Scenes, which are short videos that are heavy on guns and martial arts usage. The first video, titled Black Ops Breach, sees Martin entering the side of a house and eliminating several armed guards. Eventually, Brennon comes out to confront Martin and the two dual for a brief moment before Martin gains the upper hand. The second Action Scene, titled 66 Seconds of Fury, sees Martin climbing over a wall and eliminating three guards at once, one with a shot to the head, one with a knife to the throat, and one with a knife to the foot followed by a knife below the jaw. Martins makes his way inside, performs a jumping knee and shot to the head of another guard, and ends the video with a slow motion, 3D bullet to the head of another guard. The group is currently in pre-production on another, unnamed Action Scene.
After realizing that video game parodies were successful, Snarky began producing more video game related videos, beginning with a Dead Space 2 themed video titled Flesh Wound. The video focuses around Joe showing Martin his copy of Dead Space 2, which comes with a Plasma Cutter replica gun, which he claims is real. This video would end up being one of the most successful non Call of Duty related videos for the group as it was seen by EA's twitter account and retweeted by the company, which got Snarky a huge amount of subscribers in the span of a couple days. Later on, the group made another video centered around Portal 2 titled How Not To Think With Portals. In it, Martin orders a portal gun, which he uses to annoy Brennon. The group is currently in pre-production on another, highly anticipated triple A video game themed video.
